During a wedding ceremony in Holland there were French guests present. After I had welcomed the Dutch guests, I then focused my attention on the French guests and said: „Bonjour, soyez les bienvenus!
Of course they did that and thanked me: „Merci beaucoup!“ I wanted to carry on with my speech but a Dutch uncle loudly said: „You are not making fun of us, are you?“ The couple laughed so hard, they nearly fell of their chairs and the tone was set.
